Sleeping well, thanks to Addiewell!
Our staff members, Vicki and Eddie, were blown away by the generosity of the rehabilitation team within HMP Addiewell who have donated 10 Sleep Pods for our “Harbour Sleep Out” event.
The team of men create these Sleep Pods for https://sleeppod.org.uk/ who supply them with all the materials and they are then distributed to local homeless projects. It was a pleasure to be invited into the prison by 2 of the Sodexo Team (Jade and Robert) and given a tour of the outstanding facilities and opportunities they have created for the men to promote real change and rehabilitation.
We are looking forward to begin our partnership work with the team and inmates who will be returning to Ayrshire and to assist them in their transition back into their communities.
Thanks a Bucketload
Stef and Vicki are out and about this morning delivering our collection buckets to local businesses and soaking up some sunshine. A huge thanks to The Venice Cafe and The Works for raising funds for our charity and for all you do to help us.
VICKI & VARI DO JAIL TIME!
Vari and Vicki were delighted to be invited to SPS Kilmarnock this morning for the Health & Well-being event to chat to the men about the services our organisation offers and to show them the support they have in Ayrshire following liberation. Both girls throughly enjoyed networking with all the other amazing services and meeting the men looking to access support.
Group Facilitator Training
Staff members Vicki, Vari and Stacey have held 3 x training sessions so far in CentreStage Kilmarnock, Fullarton ConneXions Irvine and the Harbour Office in Ayr for all volunteers and helpers who volunteers within our 11 support groups throughout Ayrshire. The Training Programme has covered: Boundaries, Confidentiality, Safe Guarding, Social media, Group Interventions, Group House Keeping, Policies and Procedures, Administration and Self Care
One more training session to go and almost 50 volunteers will be trained and certified on how to properly facilitate our wonderful support groups.
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK
We are kicking off mental health awareness week in our support groups this week with;
- MOT Kilmarnock Men’s Group – Basketball at the Kay Park
- Women’s Wellbeing in Irvine – Drama Therapy with Iris Theatre Productions
- Empowerher in Ayr – Lived Experience Speaker
Exercise, fresh air, sunshine, drama therapy and share time are all amazing tools to combat poor mental health and our support groups are always on the ball when it comes to empowering individuals to feeling better in their overall well being.

Good on you Gary
We would like to congratulate one of our Volunteers “Gary” on one whole year of continuous sobriety. Gary volunteers within our MOT Killie Men’s Group and will also be joining our “out of hours” drug and alcohol helpline as of next week. WELL DONE GARY FROM ALL OF YOUR HARBOUR TEAM

Super Stace!
Huge congratulations to Oor Stace who celebrated a massive milestone on her recovery journey of 4 years continuous sobriety. Well done Stacey your best is yet to come.
Irvine Royal Academy are Winners!

Sky's the limit for Conlyn
We would like to thank one of Harbour Ayrshire’s good friend – oor Conlyn for raising an amazing £925.00 of funds for our organisation for a Sky Dive which unfortunately, after waiting for a whole 10 hours, was cancelled and to be rescheduled due to the weather!! Conlyn is waiting eagerly for the next cancellation date for his much anticipated sky dive.

Dad and Daughter Dreamteam
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Garry Gee Gee Greig and Black’s Bar for hosting a fundraising event on behalf of our charity and have raised a whopping £3000
Garry’s daughter Stefanie Greig was his motivation for raising the funds, she has been incredible to watch on her recovery journey and in turn, has been an amazing asset to our charity, helping the most vulnerable people in society.
