NINE MONTH MILESTONE FOR CHRIS

Our Volunteer Chris, has reached an incredible milestone in his recovery and has achieved 9 months of complete abstinence from all mood and mind altering substances

We are super proud of Chris at Harbour Ayrshire, he goes above and beyond for our organisation and is an incredible role model to for the people he supports, leading by example, giving them hope and showing them there is a way out from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body

AYRSHIRE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MEMBERSHIP

Our Membership Development Manager, Glenn Hays, met with Eddie Gorman and the team from Harbour Ayrshire this week. He was delighted to present the Harbour Ayrshire with their Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce certificate of membership, and find out more about the incredible work they do.

HARBOUR BUDDIES

Individuals who enter a rehabilitation process are less likely to complete the programme when a comprehensive support structure is not in place at the early stages “prehab” and following discharge from residential “aftercare”. Our organisation have recognised this crucial time for our supported people and have created a “Buddy” service where a lived experience volunteer will walk the path of recovery with them…….side by side, every step of the journey. The results are proving incredible for both the “Buddy” and supported person

AYR UNITED OPEN DAY

Our dedicated volunteers were out and about on Saturday at the Ayr United FC open day. Carrying the Harbour Ayrshire message that our organisation can be “Your shelter from the storm of addiction”. Well done guys, we are forever grateful for your hard work and dedication you put into the Ayrshire community

NORTH AYRSHIRE PROVOST VISITS HARBOUR

We would like to thank Councillor and North Ayrshire Provost Anthea Dickson for attending our Head Office to hear about Harbour Ayrshire success so far and our future plans. We are grateful for Anthea’s attendance today and look forward to seeing her in the future

JOHN'S NINE MONTH JOURNEY

Our Volunteer “Wee John” has recently celebrated 9 months free from all mind altering substances.

John commented “I was a daily substance user who could not get so much as 1 day clean or sober. I suffered terribly with poor mental health, I self-harmed daily, I was homeless and sleeping on the streets which created further trauma and paranoia. I was continuously being admitted into hospitals and spent time remanded in prison. The past 9 months have been amazing for me, I have my own wee home, my family back in my life, my kids back in my life and I can actually be a proper dad to them now, I no longer self harm, my mental health is in a much better state and so is my physical health, We are so proud of you at Harbour Ayrshire John and thank you for all the help and support you have given our organisation and the people who use our services

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TO OUR COMMUNITY SUPPORT VEHICLE

Our Community Support Vehicle has officially been in service for 1 whole year

This Vehicle was donated to us by Static World and we are extremely grateful to the company for their generosity

The Community Support Vehicle has been out and about in the community a total of 57 times and has assisted over 140 families

The Vehicle and our amazing volunteers have helped so many people in crisis, from people experiencing homelessness to fleeing domestic abuse/violence etc etc

This is a much needed service and one we are so grateful to be involved in, thank you Static World and thank you to all of our volunteers
